Servant Leaders . . .

• Understand that people are the method.
• Don't need the job.
• Have a strategy for personal renewal.
• Get rooted in things other than "ministry".
• Cultivate thoughtfulness by writing, journal, poems, meditations, and art.
• Don't pretend anything.
• Listen to Critics.
• Learn to define distinctions and paradoxes for the people we mentor. (i.e., Grace is not opposed to effort; it is opposed to earning. Earning is an attitude. Effort is an action.)
• Know how to pray and pray.
• Teach the Kingdom of God.
• Understand How Jesus Taught. Teach and preach in that manner that Jesus taught.
• Leave the Mystery of the Kingdom. (It's not our job to make sure everybody "gets it".)
• Identify incorrect assumptions.
